Introduction: The World Health Organisation (WHO, 2020), recommends minimum levels (in terms of frequency and duration) of moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity (MVPA) to ensure adequate levels of health and well-being. Adequate levels of health and well-being promote positive psycho-emotional states as well as optimal functional levels. Functionality refers to the ability of body systems to work together efficiently and perform the activities of daily life with as little effort as possible. The functionality of individuals is determined by various factors predictive of well-being and health: cardiorespiratory and muscular endurance, muscular strength, body composition agility, flexibility, and balance. These factors are considered markers of current and future health. Various studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of physical activity in improving these predictive factors. Problem and objectives: In Italy, the recommended levels of physical activity are not reached in terms of frequency and duration, nor in terms of intensity. Considering that this evidence differs from territory to territory in terms of the type of social and environmental context, the problem of the study is limited to the area of interest. The chosen area is that of the municipality of Fisciano (province of Salerno). The aim of the research is to quantify the levels of physical activity in the municipality of Fisciano through the administration of a questionnaire. Methods: The sample was recruited within the municipality of Fisciano (N=155; 33.8415.01). A test was administered via a Google Forms platform consisting of questions concerning the physical activity carried out in the last 7 days. Results and conclusions: most of the sample (58.7%) used motor vehicles for 7 days. Only 11% of the sample travelled from place to place on foot over the whole 7 days. Approximately 30% of the participants exercise in a gym. The average BMI found was 23.44.4. The survey provided important data regarding the level of physical activity in the Fisciano area that is useful for understanding the state of the art and for comparison with other areas.
