The article can be considered as a part of a series of contributions devoted to the study of Romance lexical influence on Ukrainian, and to a larger extent, on East Slavic languages. It was already pointed out that one of the distinguishing features of Ukrainian lexis, especially if compared with Russian, to a lesser extent with Belarusian, is the active use of a high number of lexemes derived from the Romance languages. The most numerous loans are from French, followed by Italian. The Spanish lexical element in Ukrainian, just as in Russian and Belarusian, is considerably less substantial than the French and the Italian ones. Nevertheless it is not as insignificant as it has often been implied in the few reports on this topic. After an outline of the way Spanish loan-words entered first European and later East Slavic languages, beginning from the XVI-XVII centuries, some typical Spanish borrowings in Ukrainian are discussed. The selection criteria used in the description and calculation of Spanish loan-words in Ukrainian is also presented. The complete scheme containing the total amount of Spanish loans in Ukrainian with their explanation will be omitted for reasons of space.

Abstract
The complete scheme containing the total amount of Spanish loans in Ukrainian with their explanation will be omitted for reasons of space.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
