The focus of this text is to bring out the configuration of Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s thought, following the intellectual itinerary of his research from the phenomenological approach to the ontological approach. From the first works on the psychology of behavior and perception, the French philosopher reaches the terrain of ontology. His latest writings represent an attempt to radicalize the philosophical question to the point of going back to the original question of Being. The pre-categorical experience of the world is therefore fundamental because it makes us see the lived, the primordial, the original, the non-reflected and with them the acting spontaneity of temporal and worldly life.
