This paper aims to examine the role of Lev S. Vygotsky in the construction of Tullio De Mauro’s theoretical framework. De Mauro engages with Vygotsky’s thought throughout his intellectual journey, especially when he attempts to re-found his linguistic theory, which focuses on meaning or, better, semaínein as a way of acting in the world, taking into account all the modalities and practices we employ to make sense of the world. De Mauro proposes an interdisciplinary linguistics closely related to the non-linguistic disciplines that have contributed to the development of linguistics, with Vygotsky’s psychology playing an important role. Vygotsky is also a very close interlocutor with De Mauro, both in the development of the concept of creativity (considered a natural gift of the human species and a fundamental property of historico-natural languages) and that of endophasic language.

Abstract
Vygotsky is also a very close interlocutor with De Mauro, both in the development of the concept of creativity (considered a natural gift of the human species and a fundamental property of historico-natural languages) and that of endophasic language.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
