Abstract

Current pressures on traditional buildings and sites are changing both their appearance and ar-chitecture. In the context of UNESCO WHS, the recent growing conflict between development needs and conservation concerns has drawn attention to Cultural Heritage impact analyses as an assessment tool for identifying and analyzing potential human-induced impacts on historic goods. The processes on traditional architecture and landscape, especially in Outstanding Uni-versal Values (OUV) sites, must be prudent and controlled with medium and long-term goals, avoiding any intrusive interventions. This paper – part of a broader research – aims to review the human-induced actions with potential impacts on Cultural Heritage properties, providing an approach for evaluation of anthropic altera-tions on historical architecture facades. The study is generated in the context of the available data gained from the UNESCO site of Amalfi Coast in Italy, under many transformations threat of its traditional architecture mainly due to touristic and profit-making policies.
