Following the Saussurean path in semiotic studies, the paper focuses on some excerpts from Karl Bühler’s Sprachtheorie and Émile Benveniste’s Problèmes de linguistique générale. The aim is to discuss certain topics introduced or discussed by Saussure, such as the concept of ‘linguistic sign’, the principle of arbitrariness, and the concepts of ‘value’ and ‘signification’. All these topics were subsequently examined and developed by both Bühler and Benveniste, thus becoming current issues in semiological and linguistic studies.

Abstract
Following the Saussurean path in semiotic studies, the paper focuses on some excerpts from Karl Bühler’s Sprachtheorie and Émile Benveniste’s Problèmes de linguistique générale. The aim is to discuss certain topics introduced or discussed by Saussure, such as the concept of ‘linguistic sign’, the principle of arbitrariness, and the concepts of ‘value’ and ‘signification’. All these topics were subsequently examined and developed by both Bühler and Benveniste, thus becoming current issues in semiological and linguistic studies.File in questo prodotto:
