Abstract
Lines 9-10 of Hipponax fr. 79 Degani could contain a parodistic allusion to Od. 11.623-626, which tells the story of the kidnapping of Cerberus from Hades by Heracles, guided by Hermes. In l. 9 Maia’s son is in fact portrayed in the guise of an escort to το]ῦ κυνὸς τὸν φιλήτην (l. 10), a phrase that could represent a reference to Heracles, whom Ar. Ra. 605 defines κυνοκλόπος, “dog thief”.File in questo prodotto:
