This article examines two passages, in which several names of ancient musical νόμοι are given. For one of these pieces, the manuscripts have two slightly diπerent forms, which have been standardised by current editions in one direction or the other. An attempt is made here to explain why it is important to preserve the manuscripts’ reading.
