This paper analyses the role assumed by body and signification in the theory of language elaborated by the psychologist Karl Bühler throughout his sematological production and which he described in his largest and best-known work, Sprachtheorie (1934). The aim of the contribution is to investigate the role of the body in the two fields of communication, that Bühler defines deictic field and symbolic field. In fact the producer - receiver’s body assumes great importance in the processes of signification and in communicative acts. Body, signification and subjectivity thus become keywords in the general sematology conceived by the psychologist.
