The analysis of Leibniz’s writings and fragments reveal a long-standing competition between two concepts, both of which denote that kind of science which is necessary for making rational decisions: prudence and wisdom. In this paper, I will examine how Leibniz organized the relationship between these two “sciences” or between these two perspectives. We will explore how they can collaborate and where potential divergences between them may arise.

Abstract
The analysis of Leibniz’s writings and fragments reveal a long-standing competition between two concepts, both of which denote that kind of science which is necessary for making rational decisions: prudence and wisdom. In this paper, I will examine how Leibniz organized the relationship between these two “sciences” or between these two perspectives. We will explore how they can collaborate and where potential divergences between them may arise.File in questo prodotto:
