The increasing availability of data sources and devices globally has elevated the significance of cyber-physical systems (CPS) across various domains, notably in Industry 4.0. CPS plays a crucial role by bridging the gap between physical systems and virtual components. These systems integrate computational and physical processes, monitored by computers and embedded networks, engaging in continuous feedback mechanisms. The central aim of CPS is to establish bidirectional interaction channels between the physical and cyber realms, creating an Internet of Things (IoT) within the physical space. This technology is driving significant progress across various domains, with a particular impact on healthcare, forming the basis for medical Digital Twins used for monitoring patients’ lifestyles, and providing alerts to patients and about prescriptions and medical consultations. To date, a comprehensive examination of the guidelines essential for realizing the full potential of technologies in critical areas such has healthcare has been lacking. The healthcare sector increasingly demands advanced techniques to offer patients optimal assistance and drive digital transformation initiatives forward. This study seeks to elucidate these guidelines, along with outlining integration methods in healthcare.
