We consider a stochastic model for the hyperlogistic curve, a general growth curve that includes well known models, such as Malthus, logistic and Bertalanffy. The problem of the estimation of the param- eters is addressed by means of the maximum likelihood method. Due to the complexity of the resulting system of equations, the solution is approximated via metaheuristic procedures, concretely the Moth-Flame Optimization (MFO) algorithm.
