Through a reinterpretation of the ideas of European and Latin American thinkers (Maritain, Arendt, and Freire)—or at least their theory of praxis—this chapter attempts to highlight how the idea of hope as a "possible world" can be considered the motivation that drives individuals toward action understood as praxis (political action). Praxis is the common thread that unites these three thinkers who, while differing in their sociocultural contexts, base their theories on common elements such as: a) a temporal dimension projected toward a future perspective; b) the presence of something that exists and that drives individuals to action to achieve it. The thinking of these thinkers is analyzed considering the idea of hope as a “possible world” based on the vision of improving individuals’ living conditions from a perspective of social justice.

Abstract
Through a reinterpretation of the ideas of European and Latin American thinkers (Maritain, Arendt, and Freire)—or at least their theory of praxis—this chapter attempts to highlight how the idea of hope as a "possible world" can be considered the motivation that drives individuals toward action understood as praxis (political action). Praxis is the common thread that unites these three thinkers who, while differing in their sociocultural contexts, base their theories on common elements such as: a) a temporal dimension projected toward a future perspective; b) the presence of something that exists and that drives individuals to action to achieve it. The thinking of these thinkers is analyzed considering the idea of hope as a “possible world” based on the vision of improving individuals’ living conditions from a perspective of social justice.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
