By analysing some key passages from the commentaries on 'De trinitate' and 'De hebdomadibus', this essay aims to investigate how Thomas Aquinas interpreted the theology of Severinus Boethius. The analysis leads to the conclusion that Thomas, who nevertheless wanted to be a faithful exponent of Boethius, ended up adding many elements that, in the Boethian tracts, are only present in embryonic form or are completely absent; in any case, he drew fundamental material from them for his own independent theological reflection.

Abstract
By analysing some key passages from the commentaries on 'De trinitate' and 'De hebdomadibus', this essay aims to investigate how Thomas Aquinas interpreted the theology of Severinus Boethius. The analysis leads to the conclusion that Thomas, who nevertheless wanted to be a faithful exponent of Boethius, ended up adding many elements that, in the Boethian tracts, are only present in embryonic form or are completely absent; in any case, he drew fundamental material from them for his own independent theological reflection.File in questo prodotto:
