Il rilievo per il recupero dell’Aviorimessa di Pier Luigi Nervi a Salerno

The debate on the preservation and enhancement of modern architecture is still discussed in depth and involves more and more areas of research, in a fertile interdisciplinary context. The wide variety of cases highlights how interventions on 20th-century works often result in the failure to recognize their real value. In this context, the importance of pro- moting processes of knowledge, analysis and relief emerges strongly, to define guidelines and operational tools aimed at the protection of modern architectural heritage. Precisely through a significant case study, such as Pier Luigi Nervi’s hangar in Pontecagnano, close to Salerno, it is possible to emphasize the crucial role that architectural, material, and technological survey plays along the entire knowledge path, being at the same time a technical and historical-interpre- tive act. The rigorous analysis and understanding of the work in its context lead to the planning of compatible conser- vation, recovery, and enhancement interventions such as to preserve the integrity and authenticity, while ensuring a harmonious synergy with the contemporary framework.
