The research analyses the role attributed to the public sector manager examining the various phases of the reforms, finally analyzing the managerial figure in the Italian Law 124/2015, which is the most recent regulatory intervention to modernize the Italian Public Administration. The research focuses on the manager-executive role, highlighting the link between performance evaluation systems and productivity incentive mechanisms, and examining the implications in terms of responsibility of failure to achieve results.
