Double-skin technology represents a sustainable and intelligent solution for both new construction and redevelopment of existing buildings. In fact, it allows to simultaneously satisfy multiple requirements, such as the thermo-hygrometric well-being of users and the redevelopment and esthetic redevelopment of the building. The case study analyzed concerns the development of a technological solution that takes into account the use of innovative materials (compressed rock wool finishing panel), an external finish adaptable to the context, and compliance with recent regulations on fire prevention of ventilated facades. This solution is particularly suitable for buildings nearing the end of their life, allowing for their energy-sustainable and esthetic redevelopment. The performance of this solution was compared with that of a traditional ventilated facade.
