Chapter 5 provides an overview of recent progress in the synthesis of enantiopure chiral organocatalysts obtained from renewable platform molecules that, although less explored, demonstrate both economic viability and sustainability. Isosorbide, levoglucosenone, and terpenes have been employed as key precursors for the design of eco-friendly chiral organocatalysts successfully applied in asymmetric transformations. Reference is also made to early examples of organocatalysts derived from alternative renewable waste sources, although their application in asymmetric synthesis has not yet been documented.

Abstract
Chapter 5 provides an overview of recent progress in the synthesis of enantiopure chiral organocatalysts obtained from renewable platform molecules that, although less explored, demonstrate both economic viability and sustainability. Isosorbide, levoglucosenone, and terpenes have been employed as key precursors for the design of eco-friendly chiral organocatalysts successfully applied in asymmetric transformations. Reference is also made to early examples of organocatalysts derived from alternative renewable waste sources, although their application in asymmetric synthesis has not yet been documented.File in questo prodotto:
