Abstract

Situated on the left bank of the Sabato river, the city of Abellinum (Campania region, southern Italy) represents a tangible testimony to the influence of the Roman civilization in Irpinia. Archaeological evidences are located on and around the Civita plateau, where it is also possible to identify some structures (the baths and the natatio of a domus) connected to the water distribution system of the city, served by the Augustan Serino-Beneventum aqueduct. Recent investigations have increased our knowledge of methods and water distribution solutions in the Roman period.
