This concluding chapter offers a synthesis of the theoretical and methodological framework underpinning the World Love Index, alongside a reflection on its broader cultural, institutional, and political implications. In a global context marked by conflict, injustice, and ecological collapse, it argues for the urgent need for a new paradigm grounded in social love—understood as a critical capital of people. Drawing on interdisciplinary insights, the Index is presented both as a scientific tool and a political act: an attempt to make visible and measurable the affective and prosocial dimensions of human action. The Index provides a concrete empirical basis to guide evidence-based policies and actions, addressing the dual level of analysis—both citizens’ and institutional practices—and systematically integrating the affective and relational dimensions of social life into strategies for improving collective well-being.

Abstract
This concluding chapter offers a synthesis of the theoretical and methodological framework underpinning the World Love Index, alongside a reflection on its broader cultural, institutional, and political implications. In a global context marked by conflict, injustice, and ecological collapse, it argues for the urgent need for a new paradigm grounded in social love—understood as a critical capital of people. Drawing on interdisciplinary insights, the Index is presented both as a scientific tool and a political act: an attempt to make visible and measurable the affective and prosocial dimensions of human action. The Index provides a concrete empirical basis to guide evidence-based policies and actions, addressing the dual level of analysis—both citizens’ and institutional practices—and systematically integrating the affective and relational dimensions of social life into strategies for improving collective well-being.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
