Conclusions. Community between practices and resistance: new challenges

Communities across the globe are facing the deepening crises caused by neoliberal capitalism, and in response, they are developing new practices, struggles and forms of participation. These struggles are not isolated; the intensification of global inequalities and divisions of labour, as well as the growth of global public spheres, means that resistance itself must increasingly think and act globally. For this reason, we believe it is important to connect local struggles with a broader transnational movement against capitalism and neoliberalism. This has been seen in many recent examples of global resistance and struggle for civil rights, the environment, food and agriculture, gender equality, and peace. This book contains many contributions that highlight the power of online networks and the capacity of global activist movements to mobilise people around the world.
