A simple, fast and accurate closed form formula for evaluating the total antenna directivity was proposed. The approximate solutions for determining the total radiated power from the knowledge of a set of power patterns were proposed. The results concerning nonredundant sampling representations of the electromagnetic field radiated by an antenna enclosed in convex surface with rotational symmetry were reported. The number of samples over each parallel was found to be related to the maximum transverse dimension of the antenna.

Abstract
