The paper focuses on the graduated labour market in a northern Italian region with a substantial equilibrium of the labour market. The data come from a research on a sample of graduates in different faculties and years. The paper presents some evidences of the job search duration of the wage differentials -and determinants- among graduates. It demonstrates that the rate of unemployment and the duration of job search are very low. Moreover, it discusses some limitations of human capital theory in explaining the wage differentials within the same educational level, highlighting the importance of specific educational profiles in the wage determinations.
