We propose an approximation scheme for the 2D t-J model following the composite operator method. Five fields, coming from the exact solution of the 2-site system, are used as operatorial basis. The equations of motion are linearized by means of a self-decoupling scheme and all the unknown parameters, to be used to fix the representation of the Green's function, are computed by means of Pauli constrains. © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V.
