As we are living in an era of biotechnological advances and therapeutic eugenics, we are urged to ponder upon or rethink our rapport with our bodies. In other words, we need to think of a new modality of the life of the body, which can no longer be connected to the traditional concept that considers the body to be a self- contained living organism. A new modality considers the body in relation to organic and non-organic bodies in a sort of ‘latent promiscuity’, in permutation and correspondence of what is ‘vital’ and ‘non vital’. It is towards this urgent call that Jean-Luc Nancy has given his full attention in this latest works.

Abstract
As we are living in an era of biotechnological advances and therapeutic eugenics, we are urged to ponder upon or rethink our rapport with our bodies. In other words, we need to think of a new modality of the life of the body, which can no longer be connected to the traditional concept that considers the body to be a self- contained living organism. A new modality considers the body in relation to organic and non-organic bodies in a sort of ‘latent promiscuity’, in permutation and correspondence of what is ‘vital’ and ‘non vital’. It is towards this urgent call that Jean-Luc Nancy has given his full attention in this latest works.File in questo prodotto:
