This paper deals with the formulation of a mechanical/numerical model for the analysis of delamination effects in layered composite beams. The laminate is modeled through a multiple-beam model, and interfacial constraints are enforced through interlaminar bilateral/unilateral springs. Delamination growth is described via the energy release rate criterion and a path-following continuation procedure. Numerical results on the delamination buckling of compressed beams are given, and comparisons with available analytical theories are established.

Abstract
This paper deals with the formulation of a mechanical/numerical model for the analysis of delamination effects in layered composite beams. The laminate is modeled through a multiple-beam model, and interfacial constraints are enforced through interlaminar bilateral/unilateral springs. Delamination growth is described via the energy release rate criterion and a path-following continuation procedure. Numerical results on the delamination buckling of compressed beams are given, and comparisons with available analytical theories are established.File in questo prodotto:
