The living, isoselective polymerization of styrene was promoted by using the titanium complex 1 activated by methylaluminoxane (MAO) at room temperature producing highly isotactic polystyrene(i-PS). The formation of isotactic-polystyrene -block-1,4-trans- polybutadiene copolymers by sequential monomer addition was also accomplished for the first time. The thermal features of these polymers clearly show that both blocks are crystalline with melting points values typical of i-PS and 1,4-trans-PB.

Abstract
The living, isoselective polymerization of styrene was promoted by using the titanium complex 1 activated by methylaluminoxane (MAO) at room temperature producing highly isotactic polystyrene(i-PS). The formation of isotactic-polystyrene -block-1,4-trans- polybutadiene copolymers by sequential monomer addition was also accomplished for the first time. The thermal features of these polymers clearly show that both blocks are crystalline with melting points values typical of i-PS and 1,4-trans-PB.File in questo prodotto:
