Abstract. This work is a reading of the vv. 813-15 and 829-31 of the Persians. The argument concerns the verb ἐκπαιδεύεται of v. 815, often been considered corrupt. It is attested in the fr. 609 Kn. [791 M.] of the euripidean tragedy Πελίαδες. Basing on the example of the euripidean fragment and on the interpretation of the editors Jouan and Van Looy, proposed even for Pers. 815 to conserve the betrayed ἐκπαιδεύεται. For the second group of verses the first problem to deal is the choice, to a v. 829, between the variations of κεχρημένοι e κεχρημένον. From this decision results almost three different interpretation the passage, all of them full of strengths and weaknesses so important to make the editor’s task more difficult. Although the v. 831 has not got problems it is essential the use and the meaning of the present participle θεοβλαβοῦντα, with a strong semantic ambivalence: for that linguistic phenomenon called inversion or relational opposition are connected the two meanings, «Serse offende gli dei» /«Serse è offeso dagli dei». But to understand the real meaning of the word it is necessary retrace the young King’s human story: of the superb king is left nothing but a man alone, without an army, without regal dresses, that cannot be more ὑβριστής. The interpretation of θεός as active agent seems within of the compost.
