A general algorithm to find unstable periodic orbits of chaotic maps is proposed. It consists in building continuous dynamical systems whose stable stationary points are in one-to-one correspondence with unstable periodic orbits of the considered map. In the case of one-dimensional maps an analytical proof of the effectiveness of the method is also given.

Abstract

A general algorithm to find unstable periodic orbits of chaotic maps is proposed.
