Medical-Legal Considerations on Informed Consensus for Prosthetic Rehabilitation. In view of the profound and continuous ethical changes that have occurred in the doctor-patient relation and with special focus on the self-determination of treatment, the authors suggest a methodological approach to patient information, a pre-requisite for valid consensus in the prosthetic rehabilitation field. In addition, stress is also laid on consensus to the processing of sensitive personal information, offering hints for discussion with respect to the involvement of minors in the decision-making process. Against this background, an investigative study was carried out on 18 informed consensus forms used in the prosthetic field and taken from medical-legal and specialized literature to ascertain their degree of effectiveness in providing correct information and bringing about patient awareness in the self-determination of treatment
