This special issue of the journal is a collection of papers discussed within the 1st Cooperlink in Ostersund, Sweden, 17-18 June 2010. The issue represents one of the scientific output of the CooperLink project financed by the Italian Research Ministry. Due to its international nature, the project is organized through an itinerant workshop held in the three participating University, and specifically University of Cassino, MidSweden University and Universidad Torcuato de Tella. The theme of this scientific research is centered around Service Science with specific reference to its foundations and implications for managerial and marketing researches. The aim of the project financed by the CooperLink program and the operations stated by the general agreement signed by three universities of Cassino, Ostersund and Buenos Aires lead to a stimulating and challenging program of comparison between different scientific approaches and philosophies all directed towards the same scientific research advance.
