Abstract
The author demonstrates the dependence of Dante’s allegory of the «selva oscura», found at the very beginning of the Commedia, on a passage in the Commentary on the Pentateuch, written by the 11th century theologian Bruno of Segni. The main result of this discovery is the disclosure of a possible new approach to the study of some specific, relevant aspects of Dante’s thought, which appear closely related to theological ideas typical of the platonic-augustinian model of thinking, i.e. the dominant model in the monastic literature of the early Middle Ages.File in questo prodotto:
