The isolation and structure detn. of four new toxic guanidine alkaloids from the sponge C. crambe are described. Crambine A, B and C1 were isolated from C. crambe collected near Banyuls (France) while crambine C2, closely related to crambine C1, was isolated from C. crambe collected off Favignana (Italy). A hypothetical biosynthetic pathway of the crambines is proposed. Pure crambines A, B and C1 were ichthyotoxic for the fish Lebistes reticulatus.

Abstract
The isolation and structure detn. of four new toxic guanidine alkaloids from the sponge C. crambe are described. Crambine A, B and C1 were isolated from C. crambe collected near Banyuls (France) while crambine C2, closely related to crambine C1, was isolated from C. crambe collected off Favignana (Italy). A hypothetical biosynthetic pathway of the crambines is proposed. Pure crambines A, B and C1 were ichthyotoxic for the fish Lebistes reticulatus.File in questo prodotto:
