Abstract: A novel polyisoprenylated benzophenone (1) has been isolated from an ethanol extract of Cuban propolis. Its structure has been determined using high-field 2D NMR techniques. Compound 1 showed significant antimicrobial and antifungal activity against a variety of bacteria and yeasts.
