First we derive a nonlinear theory of thermoelastic dielectrics with voids. The treatment is bared upon the dynamical theory of elastic dielectrics developed by Toupin and the theory of elastic materials with voids established by Nunziato and Cowin. Then we establish the equations of infinitesimal deformations and weak fields superimposed on a finite thermoelastic deformation and strong electromagnetic field.
