Fluidized bed exchangers can be successfully used to recover heat and sep. soot from exhaust gases of diesel engines. The choice of the size of the fluidized solids, the design of the exhaust gas distributor, and the performance of the heat exchanger with respect to fouling are briefly discussed. On the basis of data obtained with the exchange units coupled with 5 and 60 kW diesel engines, an industrial heat exchanger has been designed to treat exhaust gases from a 200 kW AIFO diesel engine to be installed in a cogeneration group. Similar applications are foreseen for railway and marine diesel engines.

Abstract
Fluidized bed exchangers can be successfully used to recover heat and sep. soot from exhaust gases of diesel engines. The choice of the size of the fluidized solids, the design of the exhaust gas distributor, and the performance of the heat exchanger with respect to fouling are briefly discussed. On the basis of data obtained with the exchange units coupled with 5 and 60 kW diesel engines, an industrial heat exchanger has been designed to treat exhaust gases from a 200 kW AIFO diesel engine to be installed in a cogeneration group. Similar applications are foreseen for railway and marine diesel engines.File in questo prodotto:
