Starting with the earliest historiography available in the Waldensian and reformed area of the early modern age, this research aims at focusing on the aspects relative to the institutional, religious and social organization of the Waldensian communities which settled in Piedmont in the late Middle Ages, whence originated the formation of the so called “people-church” of which little is known. Parallel to this main aim runs the attempt to focus on the inner conflicts triggered off in the Waldensian communities by the reformation of Helvetic-Strasbourgese strain, which spread among the Waldensians of the Piedmont valleys since the late twenties of the 16th century.

Abstract
Starting with the earliest historiography available in the Waldensian and reformed area of the early modern age, this research aims at focusing on the aspects relative to the institutional, religious and social organization of the Waldensian communities which settled in Piedmont in the late Middle Ages, whence originated the formation of the so called “people-church” of which little is known. Parallel to this main aim runs the attempt to focus on the inner conflicts triggered off in the Waldensian communities by the reformation of Helvetic-Strasbourgese strain, which spread among the Waldensians of the Piedmont valleys since the late twenties of the 16th century.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
