This paper investigates the problem of teaching/learning personalization in e-learning platform. In particular, it focuses on the case of mathematics education, exploiting the intelligent features of the platform IWT. The exploitation of such potential in terms of the implementation of a suitable knowledge representation, together with learning resources, is outlined and discussed with respect to learning of mathematical operational knowledge supporting structural thinking.
