In addition to the now-classic FRP composite materials (Fibre Reinforced Polymer), made with long fibers of glass, carbon or aramid imbedded in polymer matrices (such as epoxy resins), the use of FRCM composites (Fibre Reinforced Cementitious Matrix) is becoming more and more popular. In spite of their wide diffusion, the constitutive laws of these materials are not adequately studied as well as the failure mechanisms. Consequently, to date there is no agreed criteria for qualification of FRCM. The paper will present the results of an experimental investigation carried out, on different FRCM products available on the Italian market, in the laboratories of the Universites of Miami, Milano, Bologna, Roma 3, Napoli Federico II and Salerno in order to characterize the behavior of samples subject to both uniaxial tensile test and pull-out tests.
