An optimal sampling interpolation scheme in the time domain, which allows to efficiently reconstruct the field at any point of a plane from a minimum number of near-field data collected through a nonconventional plane-rectangular scanning, is developed in this work, by properly applying the nonredundant sampling representations of electromagnetic fields. To this end, an ultra wide band antenna is considered as enclosed in the smallest oblate ellipsoid able to contain it. Numerical examples assessing the effectiveness of the interpolation formula are shown.

Abstract
