The essay focuses epistemic tension between the category of governmentality and the radical historicizing that is implicit in the discourse of the historian and in the category of parresia. Against the use of governmentality in order to rationalize the discontinuities, the essay claims, in the Foucauldian work, the radical empiricism and Nietzschean genealogical analysis of the event. The evenementalisation, keeping open the contingency, avoids historical necessity and reveals practices, programs and devices with differentiating effects that make possible political antagonist action that governmental perspective seems sometimes exclude.
