A new model for supporting actions directed to transfer innovation from research laboratories to food production industries has been set up by the local government of Regione Campania. This model is based on the creation of a network of existing research institutions, the so called "Center of Competency on Agroindustrial productions". The Center supports the research groups of the network through the acquisition of high value scientific apparatus and stimulates research programs mainly oriented to technology transfer towards small and medium enterprises. The Center also acts as a global partner, representing the whole scientific community of Regione Campania operating on food and agricultural themes, for multidisciplinary research needs.
