Abstract The objective of this article has been assessing the need for organizations a new information to improve processes, innovative products, manage customer relationships, support business decisions and introduce a form of intelligent work. To have a better understanding of market trends innovation, in this field have been collected about 200 STE (Semantic Technology Companies) that offer international services Text Mining and Knowledge Discovery in Texts. Based on its degree of visibility on the Internet, it has created a dataset of STE with organizational characteristics, geographical reconnaissance, target market, main activities, fields of application, stage of development of the company and data sources analyzed. This analysis has shown a concentration of STE in the United States and approximately 65 % of the total number are emerging companies in their early stages using semantic technologies, especially to improve their business process. In Latin America, there is a smaller number of companies with headquarters, which favors the expansion of companies by creating additional offices in Colombia, Chile and Mexico.
