Technological procedures for three-dimensional reconstruction of anatomical pieces are in the process of continuous evolution, giving rise to the development of sophisticated equipment for their digitalization and posterior processing with appropriate software. In this work, we present different modalities of scanning of anatomical pieces by using various equipment such as computerized tomography, handheld and arm scanners. Once the anatomical pieces are digitalized, they are treated to reconstruct 3D images followed by their conversion into 3D models, which is done by additive fabrication using 3D printers. The motivation of this work is the elaboration and presentation of 3D anatomical models for their use in teaching of anatomy as well as in simulations and teaching of surgical interventions that could help plan the surgery beforehand.

Abstract
Technological procedures for three-dimensional reconstruction of anatomical pieces are in the process of continuous evolution, giving rise to the development of sophisticated equipment for their digitalization and posterior processing with appropriate software. In this work, we present different modalities of scanning of anatomical pieces by using various equipment such as computerized tomography, handheld and arm scanners. Once the anatomical pieces are digitalized, they are treated to reconstruct 3D images followed by their conversion into 3D models, which is done by additive fabrication using 3D printers. The motivation of this work is the elaboration and presentation of 3D anatomical models for their use in teaching of anatomy as well as in simulations and teaching of surgical interventions that could help plan the surgery beforehand.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
