Esperienza come sapere, conoscere, essere-nel-mondo

In the current philosophical debate the question of experience can be discussed beginning with the contrast between an Aristotelian notion which takes experience to be a form of knowledge mainly based on sensitivity and a Platonic-Kantian notion which holds it is a form of cognition produced by pure thinking. The paper puts forward the thesis that also Martin Heidegger’s analysis must be taken into account, according to which experience can be considered as the way of being-in-the-world, as being-there. The author underlines the centrality Heidegger assigns to the effective experience of life and hermeneutics of facticity, and he also discusses Hans-Georg Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics. On the other hand, referring mainly to Herman Cohen’s critical idealism, he demonstrates the need to elaborate a critique of experience which may give ground again to not only a theoretical but also practical cognition able to produce reality.
