This study begins with the Practica brevis by Plateario, a medieval medical manuscript preserved at the Provincial Library of Salerno. It mentions the problems relating to the reuse of obsolete codes in Beneventan writing both in palimpsests and also in additional structural elements of new manuscripts. Moreover, it reviews some significant medical proofs in Beneventan script that have been found as complete codes but also as fragments.
