Styrene-butadiene multi-block copolymers (sPS-B) comprising cryst. segments of syndiotactic polystyrene (sPS) and of cis-1,4-polybutadiene (PB) have been obtained with tunable block lengths using monocyclopentadienyl titanium compds. activated with MAO. AFM images of spin coated films from chloroform solns. of sPS-B showed well defined morphologies (spheres, lamellae) at variance of the monomer block lengths and copolymer compn. Samples of sPS-B were successfully tested as active compatibilizer of blends of sPS with PB. Remarkable mech. properties were found when blends were in situ synthesized using a multistep polymn. process producing nano and micro particles of sPS homogeneously dispersed in a PB and compatibilized with sPS-B.

Abstract
Remarkable mech. properties were found when blends were in situ synthesized using a multistep polymn. process producing nano and micro particles of sPS homogeneously dispersed in a PB and compatibilized with sPS-B.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
