It is with the publication of Hubert Jedin's extensive and historically documented biography of Girolamo Seripando in 1937 that light is shed on the varied activities of the Neapolitan friar. The following bibliographical essay, besides analysing the works by Seripando, both published and unpublished, focuses on the critical literature concerning the Augustinian friar from 1937 to this day. Said literature examines in depth some characteristics of Seripando's biography and of his works, whose significance was not wholly revealed in Jedin's study. Some aspects of his reforming activity as the archbishop of Salerno, his patronising the arts, or his philosophical thinking located between renaissance neoplatonism and Christian Cabala, just to name a few.

Abstract
It is with the publication of Hubert Jedin's extensive and historically documented biography of Girolamo Seripando in 1937 that light is shed on the varied activities of the Neapolitan friar. The following bibliographical essay, besides analysing the works by Seripando, both published and unpublished, focuses on the critical literature concerning the Augustinian friar from 1937 to this day. Said literature examines in depth some characteristics of Seripando's biography and of his works, whose significance was not wholly revealed in Jedin's study. Some aspects of his reforming activity as the archbishop of Salerno, his patronising the arts, or his philosophical thinking located between renaissance neoplatonism and Christian Cabala, just to name a few.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
