This paper focuses on the representation of female exile in Euripides’ tragedies belonging to Trojan cyclus. Special attention is devoted to the lexicon and the rhetoric of exile and to the recurrence of themes such as the opposition between past and present time and the projection into the future. The analysis of the Euripidean representation of women in exile shows that they are deprived of their familiar and social status and, consequently, of their female identity, so that they are totally weak.
