This paper deals with a specific aspect of the MAC Project, a European project within the “Urban Innovative Actions”, coordinated by the municipality of Pozzuoli, which aims at turning abandoned areas into agricultural land. Main task of the DICIV of the University of Salerno, partner of the project, is the definition of the new agro-urban landscape. This study focuses on the water resource assessment, the first essential step within the new landscape design project. The work was conducted step-by-step by collecting historical topographic maps, deriving a multiresolution DEM’s from LiDAR data and then performing the hydro-geomorphological setting before and after the new district realisation at multi temporal stages using the GmIS_UniSA system. The resulting map system has been used as a guide for the best choices in location, depth and type of the deep wells, sub-superficial drains and tanks, as well as for the design of the irrigation system. A new set of paths were designed along the water system, crossing through the cultivated areas and becoming a new public space of the neighbourhood.
